Former ZAO Drummer To Tour With FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES

February 17, 2007

According to a posting on his MySpace page, former ZAO and current CONELRAD drummer Jeff Gretz will be sitting behind the kit for New York-based hard rock band FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES on their upcoming tour beginning in early March.

Gretz recently had the following to say regarding his decision to leave ZAO: "After almost two years, I have announced my retirement from ZAO brought about by sheer inactivity from their end. I like to tour, they don't. It was as simple as that, while I would have been perfectly happy to make it a studio project, with me getting OUT of Pennsylvania... it just wasn't feasible. So to make it NOT be a long painful death...I cut the life support from my end. I wish I could say my time there was all good, I wish I could say it was all bad. But, these things happen and we must move on. The plus side is that I now have time to pursue some LONG-overdue projects that I did not have time for and get back into the 'freelancing' thing, which I quite enjoy, for the variety. Gonna give the double bass a break for awhile."

FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES' fourth full-length disc, "Holding A Wolf By The Ears", is scheduled for release on April 10 via Vagrant.
